Our partnership with the Gaelic Players Association
The GAA/GPA today announced details of their continuing partnership with Ireland’s largest independent men’s clothing retailer, Best Menswear, at a reception in Croke Park. This partnership is being renewed today to bring the association up to the end of 2017.
This arrangement is the latest in the joint venture between the GAA and GPA and will contribute to the GPA Player Welfare Programmes.
Best Menswear was founded in O’Connell St in 1948. Since the beginning they have been synonymous with the provision of excellent quality clothing at competitive prices.
Their mission is to ensure they always have the perfect suit or appropriate semi-formal or casual clothing for all important life occasions. Best Menswear are 100% Irish owned, have 12 stores nationwide and employ in excess of 150 people.
Best Menswear co-owner David Jones commented: “As a company we are delighted to announce the renewal of our partnership with the GAA/GPA. As a company we value the partnership highly and we look forward to working closely together in the coming years.
Best Menswear have been working closely with the GAA/GPA over the last number of years ensuring that the All Star teams look their best when travelling abroad. This is something we have really taken pleasure in as it allows us to be the very best at what we do in Best Menswear. All of these players, young, super fit, healthy men in their prime, who by nature are differing sizes and body shapes need high quality product and top professional tailoring to ensure they are dressed to perfection that looks as sublimely good as they play.”
Co-owner John Smith added: “Getting properly measured for your suit is the key to getting the look right, no matter the occasion. At Best Menswear we are all about ensuring the style is right and essentially, that the suit fits you – and only you.”
Commenting on the announcement, Uachtarán Chumann Lúthchleas Gael, Aogán Ó Fearghail said: “We are delighted to announce the extension to our partnership with Best Menswear, a company that prides itself in being Irish-owned and strives for excellence in its chosen field. It is always encouraging to see when a significant brand such as Best Menswear recognises the important role that our Games and our Players have in Irish life.
“Like ourselves, they have a history of setting high standards and have already made a great impact in their support of our players to date and I look forward to further collaborations as we develop our partnership between the GAA, the GPA and Best Menswear.”
GPA Chief Executive Dessie Farrell added: “The Gaelic Players Association is delighted to extend the player partnership with Irish clothing retailers Best Menswear. Along with the GAA, we have worked with Best Menswear for many years now particularly in relation to groups of payers travelling to the US with the All-Stars and Super 11s, and their support for players has always been outstanding.
“The partnership helps provide further backing for our Player Development Programme which provides essential support to county hurlers and footballers in their lives away from the field of play. I’d like to thank David and John for their commitment to extending the partnership and look forward to working together over the next year and a half.
